A 6-month-old infant was found starved and all alone next to the bodies of her dead druggie parents who passed away in a motel three days before the girl was discovered.
6-month-old Skylah was found by a Michigan state trooper three days after her parents, 28-year-old Christian Reed and 26-year-old Jessica Bramer, passed away.
When a state trooper visited the family’s motel room to perform a wellness check on the infant, Skylah was already in a critical condition due to dehydration and starvation.
Besides the child and her dead parents, the cops also discovered drug paraphernalia suggesting they could die from overdosing. Nevertheless, the official cause of death hasn’t yet been released, as the toxicology report is still underway.
According to the couple’s family members, Christian and Jessica had been in jail on several occasions due to issues with drug abuse.
As the family also revealed, it was the infant’s grandparents who previously reported that Skylah might be in danger. After contacting Children’s Protective Services, however, the agency failed to act immediately.
Following the rescue of the baby, Skylah was taken to Michigan’s Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Despite being in a critical condition at the time she was found, the girl is expected to recover from the ordeal.
In addition, the police are also urging everyone with vital information that could lead to solving the case and the mysteries surrounding Jessica and Christian’s deaths to reach out to the authorities.
