The baby boy who was born without eyes due to a rare medical condition has already been welcomed into a warm forever home by loving adoptive parents.
The story of 8-month-old Alexander ‘Sasha’ K has gone viral after it was announced that he was in need of loving parents because he was born with no eyes.
While the young boy from Russia is otherwise healthy, a SOX2 anophthalmia syndrome caused him to be born without eyeballs.
Following months of searching for suitable adoptive parents, the officials from Tomsk have finally announced that Sasha was adopted by a loving family just in time to spend Christmas with them.
“Little Sasha was taken into care by a Russian family from a different city. It happened during the last month… We cannot reveal any more details about the family,” the adoption agency spokeswoman confirmed.
In an interview with The Siberian Times, the representative added: “We are, of course, very happy for baby Sasha and wishing him and his parents all the best.”
The special baby was put up for adoption right after he was born due to his birthmother feeling worried that she wouldn’t be able to care for him because of her circumstances.
“He will have sisters to play with in his new family and a summer dacha – country house,” journalist Svetlana Syrova expressed after making sure the boy’s story didn’t go by unheard.
“Many thanks to all those who cared about the child’s fate.”
While Alexander will most likely never be able to see unless major medical breakthroughs come to pass, the boy “is no different to other children, he plays and smiles just like any healthy baby” according to a nurse who took care of him at the orphanage.
“He loves playing and adores swimming, he is a very cheerful baby indeed,” she said.
