Star Wars: The Mandalorian debuted just a week ago on Disney+ and the fans are head over heels with the incredibly attractive little thing – yes the same being that looks just like Jedi master Yoda but is considerably smaller and insanely cuter.
The first thing that needs to be addressed about this cute little character is what do we call it?
It looks like, the internet has agreed on the name Baby Yoda for this insanely cute character, relating it to Yoda from the 1983 Return of the Jedi.
This was the same movie in which Yoda died.
Now, since Christmas is just around the corner, it was really disappointing to not have any merch dedicated to the cute Baby Yoda so far.
However, a source has told Variety that numerous products based on the Baby Yoda theme are just about to be introduced. They will be released at the optimum time, keeping the holidays in mind.
So it is now the time for fans to put clothes and accessories related to Baby Yoda on their Christmas list. If you are the one giving the gifts then get ready to spend some extra bucks on the all-new merch.
As of now, Amazon has listed two t-shirts for sale on their store and a number of US supermarkets including Target, Hot Topic and Macy’s are ready to launch the merch soon.
Obviously, Disney itself would be on top of the list for selling the theme merch through shopDisney and its theme parks across the country.
Jon Favreau, who created the character, told Entertainment Tonight that they deliberately withheld marketing of the Baby Yoda character to make it a total surprise at the end of the first episode.
Disney actually did a great job keeping the character a secret.
Jon said: “I have to thank Disney and Lucasfilm, because the way the cat usually gets out of the bag with that stuff is merchandising and toy catalogs and things like that.
“So they really back us up. We really wanted to have it be that you had to watch it yourself, so that every time you watch the show, there are new twists and secrets that come out.
“That requires a lot of restraint from the people who are footing the bill, saying they’re gonna hold back on certain things so that the public doesn’t know ahead of time.
“Part of that was holding back on some of the merchandise and holding back on some of the characters.”
