A 22-year-old babysitter in Las Vegas has been accused of beating and kicking a 5-year-old boy to death.
Ryan Peralto tragically died on March 12 after suffering multiple injuries, including brain hemorrhage, skull fracture, and damage to his intestines, spleen, pancreas, and liver.
Babysitter Laurren Courtney was initially arrested on counts of child neglect but she was later charged with first-degree murder.
The arrest report shows that Ryan’s cruel beating was captured on home security cameras, which the father had set up inside their home after his 7-year-old daughter informed him that their babysitter was hurting her younger brother.
The victim’s father, Kaiaa Peralto, was at work when he received a call from Courtney that his son “was apparently not doing good and coughed up blood.”
Peralto immediately checked the surveillance footage using an app and saw his son on the sofa.
He and his wife rushed back to their home but Courtney had already left.
Ryan was taken to University Medical Center where he tragically died the following day.
An autopsy showed that he passed away from blunt force trauma to abdomen, head, and chest.
The babysitter said she had exploded in rage after the 5-year-old peed in his pants.
“(Courtney) stated this is a continual problem and she is tired of having to clean up after him multiple times, week after week,” the report said. “According to (Courtney), when Ryan urinated himself today, that was the final straw that triggered her anger.”
According to News3Lv, Courtney claimed that she has been suffering from mental health problems.
“Officers observed (Courtney) pulling Ryan by one arm through the doorway of the bathroom,” the report adds. “Lauren (sic) states ‘I know you are faking it.’ (Courtney) is observed kicking Ryan in the face with her foot, punching his face, and slap his chest. (She) then takes off Ryan’s underwear and drags him into the shower.”
A friend of the family has launched a GoFundMe page to help them lay their son to rest.
