After so many years, the truth is finally out in the open by the singers themselves.
The Backstreet Boys openly admitted that the popular song made no sense whatsoever.
There is no doubt that the song “I want it that way” was one of the biggest hits of the 90s, but truth be told, the song made zero sense.
The famous band recently appeared on the Watch What Happens Live. The band whose members included Kevin Richardson, Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, and Howie Dorough explained that this iconic track has no hidden meaning behind it.
During the interview, a fan was called in and asked why they sing that ‘I never want to say I want it that way?
The host Andy Cohen praised the fans asking for a smart question adding that he would also want to answer this question. To this question, Aj responded said that the song made no sense.
Originally, there was a completely different version of the song that made sense, but we ended up going for the one that was a load of nonsense. He said they are glad they went for this version otherwise; the song would not have been such a big hit.
Another fan decided to ask for the confirmation about the rumor that said Ryan Gosling was almost a member of Backstreet Boys. To this, the band replied that the whole thing was blown so out of proportion.
He explained that when the band was first formed, they lived in the same apartment complex as Ryan Gosling was doing Mickey Mouse Club alongside Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears.
He said they would play basketball and AJ said that the brand was going to be huge that Ryan did not believe. And he was wrong.
