What would you consider as a good restaurant?
Generally, people not only consider the quality of food, but also whether they received good service. In fact, even if the food is great, customers won’t be impressed as much if the server did not provide good care for the table.
And the most common way to show gratitude and satisfaction for the customer is to tip. If the service was great and their meal was enjoyable because of the waiter, customer leaves more than the suggested amount of tip. If customer is not satisfied with the service, however, he or she can leave a relatively small amount of tip.

Keri Marie Carlson, who works as a waitress at GW Carson’s Restaurant in Branford, Connecticut, was having a bad day, she knew she wasn’t going to get a lot of tip.
But she was pleasantly surprised when a customer left her $500 – despite what would seem as a bad service.
Carlson was having a bit of a trouble listening because one of her hearing aids was broken, and she could not afford to get a new one just yet.

But when Carlson was seating a family, she started talking to one customer. And because she did not have two hearing aids on, she kept on asking him to repeat everything.
That’s when he noticed that she was wearing one hearing aid.
When he asked if wearing two aids would help, Carlson replied that the other one was broken and that she could not afford to get a new one just yet.And when he heard the reason why she was having trouble listening, he decided to do something unbelievably amazing.
He actually offered to pay for Carlson’s broken hearing aid.
“I was in shock. I’m still in shock. It’s not something that happens everyday,” said Carlson.

“I didn’t say I needed the money or anything. He just came in the back and said, ‘I’m not going to take no for an answer and I can’t let you go home like this. ’
“And I tried to give hi the money back, but he was like –
No – you deserve this,” recalled Carlson.
“I cried for a minute in his arms,” said Carlson in her interview with ABC News.
But the surprise didn’t end there.
When the owner of the restaurant, Jim Kirtopoulos, heard about the customer’s generous act, Jim decided to donate a portion of the proceeds from the restaurant’s T-shirt sales to the American Society for Deaf Children.
“I want to thank you from the bottom of my humble heart for giving me such a gift,” said Carlson.
It’s amazing how the customer decided to pay for Carlson’s hearing aid, and how that inspired other people to continue to do more great things – such as making donations! Hopefully, more people will be moved by this heartwarming story and work in their own way to give back to their community.
