It was not an easy feat though, as Lynn combined 608 eggs. 73lb of flour, 66lb of butter, 462lb of icing, and 12 jars of apricot jam to construct the beautiful cake.
The incredibly detailed model of the Derbyshire Dales village features a corner ship with jars of delicacies behind the counter, a pub with pint glasses, most recognizable cottages, a manor house, the church, amongst other building in the village.
You can have a look at her miniature sweet version of Lynn’s village at Church of St Lawrence in the village.
Her work would be on display for six weeks, before its auction in the next month, which is to raise money for BECT or Bakewell and Eyam Community Transport.
The sixty-three-year-old retired florist noted that she declared in February regarding ingredients donation, which she was able to collect by May.
She then bagged all the ingredients to send them to those people who had promised her that they would bake fruitcakes with them. She revealed that she ended up with 54 cakes in July.
Lynn then cut the cakes in thousands of individual bricks and used those bricks to construct the village. It took her 645 hours to complete icing her marvel.
If you look at the cake and see the staggering details, you would know why it took her so long to finish icing.
Lynn has even added lights in her models to highlight the details like glasses in the pub and sweet jars inside the shop. She has used gelatin sheets as windows to enable the viewer to peep inside.
However, it had not been an easy journey for her, as once she dropped the finished model of one of the buildings and had to rebuild it.
