There’s no doubt in asserting that plastic has taken a toll over human lives for quite a long time now.
Environmentalists have been working towards spreading awareness regarding the use of plastic and its severe consequences.
Despite the alerts, we have not been able to eradicate plastics from our life completely.
Plastic has been continuously damaging our ecosystem and making our planet less comfortable to live.
Not just polluting the land, plastic is now making our oceans dirty as well. There have been cases where marine animals are dying because of plastic dumps.
Around the globe, industries, companies, markets, retailers, and everyone has been making little initiatives from their side to contribute to making the environment safer.
Supermarkets Asda, Sainsbury’s Tesco and Waitrose have decided to ditch the use of black plastics in their products by the end of the year.
According to an article published in The Grocer magazine, it was confirmed that four supermarkets are coming forward to remove black plastic use in their products.
The hazards of black plastic are larger than normal plastics. They are difficult o recycle than the clear plastics due to the presence of carbon pigment. These black plastic generally gets dumped in landfills.
The supermarkets are taking a step forward to bring a change to this culture. There are plenty of supermarkets that have vowed to remove black plastic from their products in order to contribute towards a safer environment.
Acknowledging the great initiative of these supermarkets, many restaurant chains have almost made their minds to contribute to this campaign.
Everyone has appreciated the efforts of the supermarket and deemed this initiative as a significant move to tackle the global plastic hazard.
It is just a baby step towards the dream of a cleaner and safer environment. Together with these supermarkets, we all must make out the little contribution by saying no to plastic every day.
