China is a huge country standing on number one when it comes to population. More number of people means more demand for phones and iPhone being the best at the game definitely has a major customer base in China too.
Recently an analyst working with Cowen, an investment firm said, ban of iPhones in China can cause a loss of 26% of its profit to Apple.
Apple is the US company and with recent disputes between China and the US’s business terms, there is a great chance is the US banning Apple from working in China.
Recently the commerce department of US government banned Huawei. This means all the US companies would have to take approval from the government before working with the company.
Also, Federal agencies and contractors have also been disallowed from using any products from the company strictly because of the security concerns.
Cowen employee who is working as an analyst in the company, KrishSankar, in his post said that this is the start of a trade war between the two countries. He said that iPhone ban is an extreme case scenario.
Sankar said that this is definite to cause a major but manageable hit to the earnings of the company.
He added that although there is no government ban yet but the citizens of China might stop buying the Apple gadgets out of patriotism. Because patriotism will lead them to support their own country’s products first.
