Dogs and cats are the animals’ people prefer to love.
They are the best pets and this is something no one should take out of their minds. But it looks like in about 7 states and territories in Australia, dogs, and cats are not as much loved as in the entire world.
While there is a ban on Dog and Cat meat consumption in South Australia, it is not the same case in about 7 states and territories in the nation.
And to impose the same law in all these states and territories, Michele Brown, a member of Fight Dog Meat group is taking is actually taking up a fight.
Fight Dog Meat is an Australian charity that opposes the slaughter and consumption of dogs and cats for food and fur purposes.
To work on law enforcement, the charity has created a petition that they are supposed to send to the Prime minister. They have a target of getting about 6,000 signatures and the petition has gained about 5,203 people on the supporting list.
Brown says “Cats and dogs are kept as pets and part of the family. They are loved and cared for and this is just not fair.
No family should live in fear that their loved dog or cat would be taken away someday to serve to some hungry people. They are not something to be feed on.
They are the ones to be loved. The government is not taking any decision on it. In South Australia at least the consumption of the meat was banned by dogs and cats but the same has not been enforced in the other parts of the nation.”
With this said and done, if you form these states, take time and think what should be done.
