A woman’s dreams came true as she checked her bank account only to realize someone had accidentally sent her $37 million.
35-year-old Ruth Balloon from Dallas was over the moon when she checked her bank account via an app and discovered that someone had made a deposit of $37 million.
While the mother-of-two instantly became a multi-millionaire, her happiness didn’t last long as she soon received an explanation from the bank.
“On Tuesday evening I was checking my bank to see the balance and to randomly check on our transactions. I logged into the app and noticed the $37million in green,” Ruth explained in an interview with DailyMail.com.
“I wanted to start a chat with the bank, but the chat option was already closed for the day so I texted the pic to my husband and asked why our bank account was $37million!”
As Ruth added, she knew things looked too good to be true after seeing the large sum of money in her bank account.
After telling her husband Brian about the suspicious transfer, he initially thought the whole thing was a scam.
Soon enough, however, it was revealed to the couple that a teller had mixed up account numbers and the amount of cash deposited when another customer was making a deposit.
Sadly for Ruth, all of the money was taken back from her account.
“I hoped someone really gifted us with that $37million. I was a millionaire; I have a screenshot of it so I can say that now. It’s quite a story!” she told Daily Mail.
As the mum also explained, she had already begun thinking about how she could spend the money she received.
“First I was going to do 10% tithing, then I was going to donate some money and then I would have invested in real estate. Even if the amount was a real transfer, I knew the money did not belong to us … I did daydream of what would I do with it if I did have it,” she added.
