Ruth has now returned the money that was accidentally transferred by Legacy Texas Bank into her bank account.

Ruth, who is from Dallas, told KTVT: “I was like, ‘wow, we have a lot of money’. I was a millionaire. I have a screenshot of it so I can say that now. It’s quite a story. I hoped someone really gifted us with that $37 million.”

Ruth said if she really had that much money, she would donate 10 percent to the Church and would invest in real estate.

Unfortunately, it was a mistake by the bank who later released a statement saying that they entered Ruth’s account number into the amount field by mistake while doing foreign currency transactions.

LegacyTexasBank said in the statement: “On Tuesday, December 10, our client made a foreign currency deposit into her LegacyTexas account. Due to the fluctuation in exchange rates, all foreign currency transactions must be manually entered into our system through our back office.”

“When our client’s deposit was being keyed in, our representative entered her account number into the amount field by mistake.”
