When a family welcomes a new child, it’s not uncommon for the older sibling to become jealous.
But in the case of Mindi’s family, it seemed like their collie, Papillon, was the jealous one. As soon as Baby Rachel came home, Papillon started developing bad habits like chewing their furniture. The pup would also bark a lot. “Papillon, shut up!” became the most commonly uttered phrase in the household.
One day, Baby Rachel had finally drifted off to sleep. Mindi, the mom, decided it was her chance to take a shower and a nap herself. As she started washing, Papillon started barking again! Mindi didn’t think much of it, except that it was just kind of annoying. “Papillon, shut up!” she yelled.

But then, Papillon dashed into the bathroom. He stuck his head through the shower curtain and continued to bark at Mindi. Realizing that something must be up, she hurried out of the shower and followed the dog. Papillon ran into Rachel’s room. He jumped up and put his front paws on Rachel’s crib, as if to say, look at the baby now!!! And that’s when Mindi noticed that Rachel’s lips were blue.
The baby wasn’t breathing.
They rushed the baby to the hospital where she was saved, thanks to their hero dog! If it wasn’t for the pooch, something worse could’ve happened.
