You have probably heard of many animal duos who became best of friends, such as a dog and a rabbit, and a cat with an owl.
But when you hear the story of a tiger, a bear, and a lion, holding onto each other because they were neglected in the basement, it is something you won’t forget.
The three animals were discovered by police during a drug raid.
When cops entered a drug dealer’s house in Georgia, they were shocked to find a bear, a tiger and a lion in the basement.
The animals were still young, but ill and severely malnourished. They were also covered with parasites and needed to be taken to a vet right away.
The bear’s name was Baloo, and he was found with a harness that had grown into his skin. Shere Khan the tiger was skin and bones, and Leo the lion had a bleeding wound on his face.
Police took the animals to Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary where they received love and care.
The initial plan was to allow the animals to recover before employees separate them. However, the trio cuddled together in their enclosure and always played in a gentle manner.
Leo was the serious one among the three while Khan the tiger was playful but ornery. Baloo appeared to be the group’s leader.
The three complemented each other well employees decided to keep them together in the same area.
For the next 15 years, the trio lived together.
Allison Hedgecoth, the Curator for Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary, told Inside Edition: “Even though they live in a three-acre enclosure, they’re usually within 100 feet of each other. That’s proof that they’re not just coexisting or cohabiting, they actually do enjoy each other’s company.”
