A 10-year-old bear named Takoda became an internet sensation after a video showing the bear splashing around in a tub at the Oregon Zoo went viral on social media.
The adorable bear is seen twirling around, splashing in the water, and playing with a block of wood in the YouTube video shared by the zoo.
Takoda, weighing 400 pounds, is enjoying in a tub filled with 300 gallons of cold water set up for the bear and three other ‘furry denizens.’
The video has been watched over 49,000 times after it went live on YouTube.
Amy Cutting, who manages the zoo’s Great Northwest area, said: “The warm weather is starting to come on, and Takoda loves splashing around in his tub.
“He’s quite a goofy bear. He was just cooling down and having some fun on a nice spring day.”
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the zoo says that those who want to see adorable Takoda in person will have too wait as the zoo remains closed.
According to Takoda’s bio page on the website, its name translated from Sioux means ‘friend to all.’
It was in November 2010 when the cute bear came to the zoo after he had been orphaned in Montana. “He was found hungry and dehydrated, weighing less than 3 pounds,” his bio reads.
The young bear was rescued by wildlife officials but because Tokada ‘had close interactions with humans,’ it was deemed dangerous to let him go to the wild.
One internet user commented: “With everything going on currently, I’m starting to think the bears are on to something. All they do is eat, sleep, and reproduce. Sounds like a nice simple life….”
Another wrote: “LOL! He’s having a good time.”
A third added: “I will never get tired of looking at pictures of adorable animals.”
