A shocking CCTV footage has caught the moment a giant bear walks into a police station on two hind legs.
It all happened when a fully-grown North American black bear decided to pay a friendly visit to a local California Highway Patrol Office.
The uninvited guest was fortunately caught on camera, otherwise, no one would’ve believed the story.
The staff at the Highway Patrol Department in Truckee, California, were left stunned when they saw the bear standing on its two feet and walking in the station by turning the doorknob.
It seemed as if the bear was looking for an adventure. He gazed around, sniffed various objects, and even strolled deeper into the station.
During his exploratory tour, the bear also entered a room where 2 officers were sitting.
Needless to say, the courageous officers quickly got up to drive the cheeky animal out of the station. But the two of them soon noticed that the bear meant no harm and was just wandering around to kill his time.
So, they allowed the animal to move around into the empty parking lot of the department.
In the CCTV footage captured from outside the station, the bear was seen walking up to a dumpster and getting on his feet to look through it.
The animal eventually left after he found nothing to have fun with.
Following the strange encounter, the footage of the incident was shared on social media by the California Highway Patrol department. “We always encourage visitors to stop by and say hi,” the department wrote with the video on its Facebook page.
Meanwhile, the internet users came up with all sorts of jokes to explain the bizarre encounter.
One person commented: “He was going to turn himself in for dumpster diving but decided against it when he read the jail menu.”
Another user wrote: “Heard muttering ‘can never find a cop when you need one’ as he walked out the door.”
