Greg Abbott, Texas governor, states the Biden and his administration should take the blame and responsibility for the allegations that are happening at the San Antonio migrant facility.
He declares at a recent press conference that there is alleged abuse that is happening inside the Freeman Expo Center. Not only is the Biden administration under fire for these allegations, but the facility, as stated by Abbott, is a “health and safety nightmare,”
Pictures at the facility show the condition that the migrant children are in, even including those that have been separated from their parents.
Not onnly are the allegations including the child sexual abuse and neglect, there are claims that the facility Biden has hosted are understaffed and the children are not eating enough for them to sustain themselves.
Abbott adds on, “While we wait on the Biden administration to act, I’m directing DPS and Texas Rangers to immediately begin investigating these allegations,”
There have been numerous sources of underage children being held at the Exposition, and President Joe Biden has refused to call the surge a crisis, passing down the responsibility of Kamala Harris to take control of what is happening down there.
Harris is being speculated by the general public, unable to make her rounds at the border as ordered. Instead of the Vice President herself, Alejandro Mayorkas, head of DHS, will visit the area on Thursday to meet with local law enforcement and try to deal with what has been going on.
There have been reports that the abuse has been inflicted on at least 500 boys between the ages of 13 – 17, but there is no clear number and information whether they are held separately from those who are younger than them.
The Biden administration has also been criticized for disassembling Trump’s immigration policies, which in return has given the United States more migrants reaching the southern border.
By lifting the policy that had been placed under the Trump era, they have admitted it as a more “humane” approach to the immigration policies that were placed, and an increase in the border crossings.
The most that the border has ever received migrants was just last month, almost reaching 17,000 individuals crossing at the southern border.
The pods inside the facilities are designed to hold at least 80 children, and press are restricted to exploit what has been happening behind the scenes.
