Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been named the ‘Person of the Year’ by Time magazine.

As the magazine’s editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal expressed, Biden and Harris deserve the title “for changing the American story, for showing that the forces of empathy are greater than the furies of division, for sharing a vision of healing in a grieving world.”

The decision follows shortly after Joe Biden has been declared the president-elect for winning 306 electoral votes and over 81 million votes in total.

“Every elected President since FDR has at some point during his term been a Person of the Year, nearly a dozen of those in a presidential election year. This is the first time we have included a Vice President,” Felsenthal added.

“Together, they offered restoration and renewal in a single ticket. And America bought what they were selling.”

As Biden allegedly told the magazine after he was asked what he wants people to remember his administration by, it is his objective that Americans will be better off the day they leave than the day they arrived.

“That America was better off and average Americans are better off the day we left than the day we arrived. That’s my objective,” Biden said.

While Trump has yet to comment on Time’s decision, the president has long had beef with the magazine for not choosing him as the Person of the Year.

“The Time Magazine list of the 100 Most Influential People is a joke and stunt of a magazine that will, like Newsweek, soon be dead. Bad list!” Trump wrote back in 2013 when he didn’t appear on the list at all.

In the following years, Trump took a series of hits at the magazine for failing to award him the honorary title.

“I told you @TIME Magazine would never pick me as person of the year despite being the big favorite. They picked person who is ruining Germany,” Trump said after Time picked German Chancellor Angela Merkel for the title back in 2015.

In 2016, after winning the election, Trump was finally recognized by Time as the Person of the Year. “Thank you to Time Magazine and Financial Times for naming me ‘Person of the Year’ – a great honor!” he said at the time.
