Joe Biden, 79, could still be the President of the United States until he reaches the age of 86 if his reported plans for 2024 will push through.
Biden is the oldest person to be elected as president in US history, with his inauguration held just two months after his 78th birthday.
Now, his friend had recently shed light on Biden’s future as President.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Biden’s pal and former Senator Chris Dodd said that ‘he’s planning on running again’ in 2024, which only means that if he will be re-elected, Biden could be in the White House until he’s 86-years-old.
Dodd was asked whether or not he believes that President Biden will be running for office once again and his answer was rather vague.
“The only thing I’ve heard him say is he’s planning on running again,” Dodd told The Washington Post. “And I’m glad he is.”
Biden reportedly underwent a health check-up routine last November 19, one day before celebrating his 79th birthday.
According to the medics at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, President Biden – who still exercises five times a week – is in a ‘healthy,’ and ‘vigorous’ condition.
Biden’s health is seemingly not a concern at the moment, which could mean that he might still walk on the campaign trails in the next three years.
Meanwhile, one source told The Post that during internal meetings, the President has allegedly ‘told the people privately that he plans to run and we will be ready for that’.
At the time of this writing, the current President of the United States has yet to declare a re-election campaign.
It’s widely believed that Biden would wait until after the midterms before making any kind of formal announcement of running in the next presidential elections.
