Receiving a classified presidential briefing is one of the first rights of a presidential candidate after winning the election. It is prepared by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence for the President, vice president, and senior advisers.

An ODNI spokesperson said to CNN: “Following the statutory direction of the Presidential Transition Act, ODNI will provide requested support to the transition team.

“This afternoon the White House approved ODNI to move forward with providing the PDB as part of the support to the transition.”

Presidents-elect usually receive the PDB days after winning the election. However, there was almost a three-week delay in the start of the transition process due to President Donald Trump’s refusal to concede defeat.

The president wrote on Twitter Monday night: “What does GSA being allowed to preliminarily work with the Dems have to do with continuing to pursue our various cases on what will go down as the most corrupt election in American political history?”
