White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has revealed the US President’s thoughts regarding the teaching of the ‘Critical Race Theory’.
Psaki revealed how Biden supported the teaching of the nation’s challenging history which he felt came packed with plenty of dark moments. Moreover, the news comes as the White House Press Secretary addresses her weekly briefing with the Press, where she spoke on a number of different issues too.
During the Friday meeting, a reporter questioned her regarding Joe Biden’s thoughts on the critical theory and whether or not he felt it was necessary to teach such matters or not.
And that was when Psaki pointed out a number of ‘dark moments’ that were currently present in American history, also claiming how the world and the country, in particular, are being affected by issues relating to systemic racism too.
“The President and I are both parents of children and that’s why we hold the common thought that our kids need to know what really went on in the past,” she began to continue.
The sensitive issue of ‘Critical Race Theory’ picked up pace as the Republicans went about arguing how it was a matter that would sow division while adding how it could add an element of guilt too in children’s hearts for being ‘White.’
Psaki added how Biden held strong opinions about how American history had its fair share of dark moments but that wasn’t it. “The history goes well beyond the topics relating to systemic racism as well as slavery,” she added.
In the same way, the White House Press Secretary held on to the thoughts relating to how the nation’s First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden was an educator and strong advocate who continually believes that kids need to be aware of all the good as well as the great challenges that the American history presents.
