The House Republicans are stepping up their calls for the formal resignation of President Joe Biden while asking him to take full ownership for the humiliating Afghan exit too.
This is reportedly the first formal call for Biden’s resignation being made by the Freedom Caucus.
House Republicans expressed their dismay and outrage over the disaster that took place over the past few weeks as the US-made arrangements to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan in a quick manner. However, the recent ISIS-K attack that killed 13 US servicemen, as well as more than 100 Afghan civilians, had so many people talking.
The President faced immense criticism from all boards when he opted to withdraw US troops from the war-torn nation. But he stood firmly by his decision, despite leaving around 250 Americans stranded in Kabul, explained reports.
Now, the House Republicans feel that enough is enough and it’s time to hold the President responsible for the humiliating disaster that ensued due to his poor decision-making strategies.
Local media reports suggested how the Republicans are now putting forward a bill being set up by Representative Mike Gallagher.point 393 |
This will seek assistance to allow for the rapid evacuation of all those US citizens that are stranded in Afghanistan today.point 104 | In the same way, the bill will also instill accountability on Biden for the turmoil and chaos that went on recently.point 200 | 1
Meanwhile, the House Minority Leader explained more about the new bill and what hope it brings to America. And that’s when she shed light on the safe removal of all Americans left in Afghanistan as well as accountability for all the weapons currently present in Afghanistan too.
“Innocent Americans are stuck in Afghanistan while the Taliban are getting stronger each day with US weaponry that was left behind.point 229 |
Let’s not forget about the open Southern border,” she explained during her speech.point 82 | This was followed up with backup speeches by a number of other leading House Republicans who backed up the bill that would hold the President accountable.point 211 | 1
