His family could not come for his last ceremony, and PGR had to perform the ceremony. Although the PGR organization was not happy with sending the veteran’s body to his family through a courier company.

Patriot Guard Riders from California decided to deliver the body themselves. The contacted PGRs from all the other states that were between California and veteran’s home.

Soon an assembly was made, and a route was designed. Riders from each state agreed to it. They started from California and kept passing the body in the coffin to the Riders of next state until it finally reached the veteran’s family.

PGR from each state received the body on the borders of the state and passed it to the next state. It was the longest journey for about 2000 miles, and hundreds of Patriot Guard Riders came together to make this happen. It was truly heartwarming. May Turner’s soul rest in peace.
