On May 4, Bill Gates announced his divorce from Melinda French Gates.
According to Vanity Fair, Gates would drive to work in his Mercedes before driving off in a golden brown Porsche that staff brought for him.
The report claimed that it was Gate’s way for meeting women.
Vanity Fair detailed the longtime rumors about Gate’s infidelity to his wife, including how he would switch cars to try to cover his tracks.
“We all assumed that it was when he was with women,” one Microsoft employee told the magazine. “I knew there were many offsite meetings that were not on his calendar.”
Gates is known to be an avid car collector, particularly Porsches. The millionaire has recently purchased a Porsche Taycan, an electric car.
He has also previously owned a 1979 Porsche 911, and a rare Porsche 959 Sports.
Two more sources told Vanity Fair that someone in Melinda’s circle hired a private investigator leading up to the divorce, and the PI’s findings will take a huge part of the case.
However, a spokesperson for Melinda quickly slammed the claim and said that it was ‘completely false. Neither Melinda nor anyone at her direction ever hired a private investigator.’
Last month, The New York Times reported that Gates pursued women who worked for him several times when he was still the chairman of Microsoft.
Gates once emailed an employee to ask her out to dinner, and he asked another woman who worked for the Gates Foundation that he wanted to take her out to dinner while they were on a business trip to New York, the magazine reported.
Back in 2019, Microsoft’s board of directors carried out an investigation into Gate’s behavior after reports of his advances on an employee in 2000. Gates then stepped down from the board in 2020, after the tech company hired a law firm to look into the allegation.
