Billionaire and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has pledged an AUD1 million donation (USD690,000) towards the Australian bushfire crisis relief.
According to the reports, the donated sum will be distributed to several support channels including the RFS and CFS, the Salvation Army Australia, the Australian Red Cross, and WIRES.

“The donated products, including water, food, safety clothing, building materials, and more, have been specifically requested by BlazeAid as essential to aid their volunteers in the recovery efforts,” the post read.
The donation followed shortly after Jeff Bezos was named the richest person in the world in 2019 despite his tremendous losses.
As per the Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index, the 500 wealthiest individuals worldwide have accumulated $1.2 trillion in the year 2019, totaling to the combined wealth of $5.9 trillion.
Previously, in the year 2018, the top 500 richest people had a combined wealth of $4.7 trillion.
While the technology mogul and the CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos was the only entrepreneur among the 30 richest people in the world to experience a drop in the total net worth in 2019, he remains on top of the ladder despite his $8.75 billion loss.
