A black woman from Michigan is raising her voice after being fined $385 by the cops for talking too loud after her white neighbor made a complaint to the police.
The woman claims she was subject to an incident of racism as she did nothing wrong. “I was just walking down the street when the incident took place for no reason,” she added.
Reports confirmed the woman’s identity as Diamond Robinson who strolled down her street casually, minding her own business while having a telephonic conversation. And that’s when she claims that one of her white neighbors came out of the house and told her to keep it down.
“Do you think that you can get off your phone or even talk in a lower tone,” the neighbor requested Diamond. However, it is alleged that Diamond didn’t like the woman’s interference one bit. Hence, she opted to tell her, “Get out of my face.”
Little did Miss Robinson know that the same neighbor would not be letting go of her rude comment so easily. Hence, she opted to call the cops on her. Soon, within a few minutes, police authorities rushed to the scene which Miss Robinson recorded through her Facebook Live.
In the shocking video, Miss Robinson states, “I hope you all realize that whatever you are doing is being recorded. I am simply not doing anything wrong by walking up and down this street, chatting on my phone,” she added.
Now, Miss Robinson or Diamond believes that this entire mishap took place in the first place because she was black. “I was targeted because I am black,” calling it a sheer act of open racism.
In the end, Diamond received a fine worth $385 for creating a public nuisance by the cops.
What do you think of the incident? Did Diamond deserve that fine or was it an act of targeted racism? Let us know in the comments section!
