The incident occurred in Melbourne, Australia, where Louise Pearson was about to take a ride on a bus with her service dog Arthur when the disrespectful driver told her no dogs are allowed on the bus.

Despite explaining to the driver that Arthur was her service dog and that he is by law allowed onto the bus, Pearson didn’t get far and was forced to get the police involved after an hour-long standoff.

“I have a golden Labrador guide dog called Arthur, and I stepped onto the bus and said ‘this is a guide dog,’” the woman explained in an interview with 3AW.

As she added, the driver didn’t budge under pressure even after fellow commuters confronted him and told him that guide dogs were allowed to travel on public transport.

“We’ve been sitting here for the last 50 minutes because he says it’s not a guide dog,” Pearson said on air.

Following a long argument, the bus driver, convinced that he was right, called the police who offered the woman a free ride home as they arrived at the scene.

Nevertheless, Pearson turned their offer down, knowing that she was in the right and that the bus driver had to be taught a lesson.

After a while, the driver finally decided to let Pearson and Arthur board the bus.

“I can’t believe in this day and age that we have this sort of nonsense going on. I’m totally blind. I’m just trying to go to work!” the upset woman added.
