Australian blogger Laura Mazza started writing a blog ‘The Mom on the Run’ when she struggled with postnatal depression after her first child, Luca.
She had a feeling of loneliness and she was confused in her life, so she starts writing to connect with other moms who might be going through a similar situation.
The blog has 250k followers, where she talks about everything from anxiety to the first poop. Her followers love her straightforward, no bulls**t writing style.
Laura’s latest viral post is about ‘preparation’ for having kids. Well, Laura has made a list of things you can try, so you get the basic idea of what parenthood is like.
The post caught the attention of parents who are experienced and horrified non-parents alike, with over 120k likes and shares on Laura’s Facebook page.
“For once I don’t think I saw any negative comments, every kid is the same!” Laura told Bored Panda about her latest viral post. “Even the older generation of followers told me it gave them a good laugh because it was the same for them, and those are the days they DON’T miss.”
Laura believes that if she had to do it all over again, she would do it in the same way. “As much as I’m sleep deprived, my hair is more silver than tinsel and I look like an old haggard woman who can’t jump without having protective underwear on, I wouldn’t change a thing,” she told us.
“Every day is an adventure and if I was overly prepared, I don’t think it would be.”
Earlier, she wrote a post: People always say to me “I don’t know how you do it with 3. I can’t do it with 1” and people loved it.
“Getting a babysitter, sleeping, passing your baby over to your partner like a football, or putting the baby down in her bed nice and safe while you take a minute – is ok.
Your mental health matters.
Your self-care is still important. You’re still a person. You don’t have to exhaust yourself to be a good mother. You don’t have to lose yourself. No one is cleaning their house every day. No one is having s** every day.No one has it all together.
We are ALL losing our s t. Even Becky with the good hair. ”
