For the very first time in the history of Korean entertainment, South Korean filmmaker, Boo Joon Ho has taken his movie “Parasite” towards the charts of Oscar Nomination.
The film was premiered in the Cannes Film Festival in May 2019, which left many speechless and amazed.
The film has already received the title on the “Best Film”, “Best Director” and “Best Original Screenplay”, but not in the language of English.
After learning about the historic nomination, Boo Joon Ho the director of the movie expressed his thoughts most uniquely.
He said that he is over the moon, after learning about the news and believes to stay humble, and also said he might wake up thinking it was only a dream.
When he shared his thoughts with Deadline, his translator and filmmaker Sharon Choi, they explained that Joon Ho feels it’s like inception.
This psychological thriller was released in the country of South Korea in May 2019 and will release in the US and UK on February 7th.
The movie has well-known legends of South Korean entertainment like Song Kang Ho, Cho Yeo Jeong, Lee Sun Kyun, Park So Dam, and Choi Woo Shik.
The story surrounds a family of four, who struggle daily to make the ends meet while living together in their small apartment basement.
However, things take a different turn when one member of Kim’s family is hired as a tutor by the wealthy Park family. The rest of the Kim family members plans to infiltrate and de-camp in the household of the Park’s.
But the situation does not go the way they planned. Bong Joon Ho also directed the Netflix movie “Okja” in 2017, and wants to expand his territories by adapting the movie into the HBO series, along with Adam McKay.
