Joshua Brown, 28, was caught in a murder trial of his neighbor Botham Jean who was reportedly killed by another one of his neighbor- Amber Guyer.
The trial took place on September 24 where Brown couldn’t keep himself together and testified that Guyer mistakenly broke into Jean’s apartment and killed him.
Last Tuesday, the testimony of Brown helped the court reach the real culprit and it established Guyer as guilty. It announced that Guyer would be sentenced a 10 years of imprisonment.
The case took a new turn this Friday when Joshua Brown was shot dead outside an apartment complex around 10:30 pm.
He was shot in the Medical District of Dallas and the neighbors heard the gunshots. As soon as they spotted him, he was rushed to the hospital only to find out that the injuries left him dead on the spot.
Police have not yet identified the culprits behind this fatal attack according to Dallas Morning News. Neither have they connected Brown’s death to Jean’s death yet.
Dallas Country Prosecutor Jason Hermus, who was in charge of Guyer’s trial paid his respects to Brown who came forward to stand for what’s right. He said that when everyone stepped back, Brown was the only one who showed courage to testify against Guyer.
Lee Merritt, the attorney journal who fought the trial for Jean’s family revealed that Brown was afraid that testifying against Guyer might turn out dangerous for his life.
He took up to Facebook to share that ‘Brown was still visibly shaken up from the incident when he took the stand to testify on behalf of the prosecution. His murder underscores the reality of the black experience in America.’
Brown was a former athlete who took to entrepreneurship.
He was not immune to fears of gun violence in the USA which are taking over the landscape like havoc. Now all the fingers are pointing towards the connection between the two murders even though things are yet to be proven.
