A 6-year-old boy with autism and his family were at the River Town mall in Michigan when he saw Santa Claus.
Landon had an important question for Santa, so the nervous boy sat on his lap and asked a heartbreaking question.
“Will my autism put me on the naughty list?”
The young boy was worried his condition would put him on Santa’s naughty list as he knew he was different from other kids.
Santa looked at him and answered: “You know I love you and the reindeer love you and it’s OK. You’re a good boy. You’re a good boy, you know?”
Landon’s anxiety disappeared in an instant and he calmed down. His mom, Naomi, watched in awe as Santa put a smile on her child’s face.
With only five words, Santa convinced the 6-year-old of it: “It’s OK to be you!”
After Santa answered his question, Landon stayed with him for a few minutes and asked more questions. He also told Santa about his interests.
Naomi said: “We have met a lot of amazing people in our Autism journey, but this one made the top of the list.”
Her post has been lived over 100,000 times on Facebook as she explained that Landon went to see Santa with his cousins.
“Santa sat him next to him and took L’s hands in his and started rubbing them, calming them down. Santa asked L if it bothered him, having Autism? L said yes, sometimes. Then Santa told him it shouldn’t. It shouldn’t bother him to be who he is.
“L told Santa that sometimes he gets in trouble at school and it’s hard for people to understand that he has autism, and that he’s not a naughty boy.
“Santa told L to not worry and that he has been a very good boy being who he is. They sat, and chatted for at least 5 minutes. Santa payed close attention and listened to him. This just melts this momma’s heart!”
Yes, it melts everyone’s hearts.
