Joseph would look up at the wall to memorize the map of the world and within months, he was able to draw all the world’s countries, capitals, borders, and seas.

His mother Sue Garner said: “He knows more than me and I’m a teacher. It’s quite embarrassing. It’s entirely self-taught. He isn’t even taught geography at school so this is completely off his own back.”

“He’ll run over and say ‘test me, test me’. What amazes me is that he’s right 99 percent of the time. You can name any country and he’ll be able to name the capital and its bordering country within seconds. It’s most incredible really.”

His mother says he first started drawing the continents but now he is able to draw all the countries within 15 minutes.

Joseph has chosen Cyprus as the family’s summer holiday destination this year. His mother says: “When we were booking our summer holiday he said not to go to Turkey because it borders Syria. We’re actually going to Cyprus this year so he’s looking forward to understanding the currency and the language.”

His mother says he is very knowledgeable and is currently collecting different currencies.

She said: “Whenever someone comes back from holiday he’ll ask them money. Of course, if anyone comes up to you asking for money it can come across a bit rude. But it’s his thing. He has such a thirst for knowledge. He’s desperate to teach his younger brother and sister what he knows.”
