A 6-year-old boy discovered chained up ‘like a dog’ by his abusive father has finally been freed from unimaginable domestic abuse.
Shocked police found the little boy on his knees tethered to a door. Photos were released showing the metal chain around the boy’s body to keep him in place.
Police launched an investigation after the boy had told his friends about the abuse he experienced at home. His friends then told their parents who contacted the police.
According to Luhansk regional police, there was evidence of beatings on the child’s body. The father also admitted he inflicted those ‘for educational purposes.’
Officers have immediately acted to take the boy away from his 36-year-old father and 27-year-old stepmother.
“He was chained like a dog,” one report said.
The child has been removed from his home in Aidar-Mykolaivka Village in Ukraine.
The father faces legal action for torture and child abuse with a sentence of up to five years. He is also to be “stripped of his parental rights,” according to the prosecutor’s office of the Luhansk region.
The 6-year-old is undergoing checkups in a hospital and is likely to be transferred to an orphanage.
A spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office said: “The child will not be returned to this family. The boy was checked by doctors and is now provided with necessary psychological assistance.
“Childcare officials are working ‘to deprive the father of his parental rights.”
