A five-year-old boy climbed the six-mile Yorkshire mountain Pen-Y-Ghent wearing a flight suit to raise money for RAF Benevolent Fund.
Jacob Newson, from Leeds, West Yorkshire, climbed the 2,277-foot high Pen-y-Ghent mountain in Yorkshire with his father, Andrew – an ex-forces veteran.

The five-year-old climbed to the top of the mountain in an hour and a half and completed the whole circuit in around four and a half hours.
Jacob said: “My legs were a bit achy after the climb, but I really enjoyed doing it.”
Jacob was inspired to climb the mountain after meeting Red Arrow pilots at the Royal International Air Tattoo.
Ahead of the event, Jacob’s father Andrew contacted the RAF on social media and told them that Jacob had been practicing his marching and salute all week.

Andrew said: “When we got there they took us to the runway and the Red Arrows all lined up and spoke to Jacob.point 198 | They all lined up in order of their rank and saluted him and then he went along the line high-fiving them all.point 287 |

“It made his day, it was a dream come true for him. He was blown away by it.”
Jacob added: “I can’t believe I met the Red Arrows. It was an amazing day.”
Andrew and his partner, Andrea decided to thank the pilots and started raising money to support the RAF Family.
Jacob managed to raise more than £6,000 for the RAF Benevolent Fund.
