If you have had experience of petting animals, you would know that with the passage of time you start loving them so much that you feel like they are part of your family.
Especially, for kids, they start thinking that their pets are their best friends and want to give them all of their love and attention. But unfortunately, things don’t always turn out as per expectation.
That’s what happened with a 4 years old kid who took out his pet golden fish from the water tank to cuddle only to find out it died after a few minutes.
This is the story of Tori Hamin’s 4 years old son Everett who is a huge fan of his Nemo – his pet golden fish. He loves it so much that he can’t stop looking at it.
The little boy has even decorated the tank with lights of different colors and always keep giving food to the Nemo, until one night when he couldn’t control his emotions and decided to sleep with the Nemo.
One night when Tori and her husband came to their child room to see if he was sleeping well, they were shocked to find out that he was sleeping with the Nemo in his hand.
While giving an interview to TheDailyMail, Tori told, “I was shocked at first, but then when he said he just wanted to pet it I was thinking, oh my god, that’s so sad. I didn’t think it was funny that he killed it. He had no understanding of what he was doing. Honestly, I’m surprised he caught it. He’s got some good skills there.”
Unfortunately, little kid learned it the hard way that fishes need to stay in the water. The next morning when the little kid found out about his Nemo passing away, he was really sad and told his parents that he didn’t want to kill it.
Tori told the news agency, “He said, ‘I just wanted to pet it.’ So we were like, ‘buddy, you killed your fish. Fish can’t live out of water’. We explained it to him and he got upset and said, ‘I didn’t want to kill my fish’ and got upset.”
After this incident, he became really sad for missing his pet fish all the times but the parents decided to cheer him up by taking him to fish. Now Everett has learned that even though he loves fishes, never take them out of the tank.
