The 17-year-old had just left his friend’s apartment when four bullies suddenly attacked him.

His mother, 53-year-old Karen Sinfield, said the incident has left the teen in fear of going out of their house.

“They tortured him for about an hour making him pretend to be a dog in a dog bed,” she said to Kent Live.

“They spat on him and kicked him in the head. He’s epileptic.”

The teen was so scared that he couldn’t give a statement to police. The mother was also horrified at officers’ response to her son’s fears.

Ms. Sinfield said cops just responded: “What’s the point in calling us if you can’t give a statement?”

The incident came as new figures showed violent crimes have increased in many parts of Kent.

Inspector Jon Turtle said: “Our officers work tirelessly to ensure Tonbridge remains a safe place.

“Residents and business owners should be assured that we have dedicated officers who work with partner agencies to tackle crime and antisocial behaviour on a regular basis and providing a visible presence is one of our ongoing priorities.”

The Head of Investigations for Kent Police’s West Division, Detective Superintendent Jon Armory, also said: “We can find no record of Kent Police being contacted about a teenage boy being assaulted by four boys in the Speyside area of Tonbridge.

“My officers are making arrangements to speak with the boy and his mother to understand the circumstances so that appropriate further enquiries can be made.”

One internet user commented: “When empathy dies out so does the human race.”
