After seeing the effects and injuries that face masks have on frontliners of the battle against the coronavirus pandemic, Quinn Callander has put his 3D printing skills to the test and designed ear guards that attach to the straps of face masks to ease the strain on ears.

The boy’s genius solution followed shortly after a local hospital asked for help in dealing with the consequences of wearing surgical masks.

And so, Quinn not only designed the ear guards but also printed dozens of them before donating them to the hospital.

To make sure other health workers from around the world will also benefit from his design, the boy scout made his plan public, allowing other 3D printer users to replicate his ear guards.
