A beautiful moment when a young boy with Down syndrome hugged his upset classmate with autism was caught on camera and captured the hearts of millions of people around the world.

In the short footage, the sweet boy with Down syndrome is seen giving his friend, who was visibly upset, a tight hug before attempting to cheer him up.

The sweet exchange occurred at a school in Jalisco, Mexico, where the unnamed boy with Down syndrome moved closer to his friend with autism after seeing that he was distressed.

Then, the boy gave him a tight hug and moved around his arms in an attempt to make him stop crying and put him in a better mood.

Before comforting his classmate, the boy with Down syndrome also used his hands to wipe away the distressed pupil’s tears.

After sharing a long hug, the compassionate boy pulled his classmate closer and rested his head on the boy’s neck.

After the video was posted on Facebook, the sympathetic gesture went viral with the video being viewed over 20 million times.

As the viewers suggested, it was incredibly kind of the young boy to comfort his classmate while he was having a hard time.
