As a young boy from Russia proved, not all heroes wear capes, as some wear paintbrushes instead.
9-year-old Pavel Abramov is a gifted young boy with a big heart who came up with the idea to sell his custom-made paintings in order to raise food and supplies for shelter animals.
The young Arzamas-based artist makes stunning portraits of animals upon request and donates 100% of his profits to a local shelter in an attempt to save as many lives as possible.
Pavel started his project, dubbed the ‘Kind Paintbrush,’ together with his mom, Ekaterina Bolshakova, in 2018 after the boy’s heart opened up for the animals following the loss of his pet.
In addition, the pair is running a social media site called ‘What a little volunteer is capable of?’ where they inspire people to follow Pavel’s lead and make a change in the world.
While the 9-year-old artist doesn’t have employees working for him or organizations funding him, he definitely has a big heart and a gift for painting.
As the selfless duo revealed, Pavel creates paintings of owners’ pets in exchange for food and supplies for shelter animals. He also gets to meet the pets he paints and their owners in person when possible.
After the boy’s story went viral, people from around the world have taken interest in Pavel’s paintings with his works of art traveling as far as Germany and Spain.
Pavel also works directly with the only animal shelter in his city that provides a home to more than one hundred dogs as of this moment. Speaking of his success, the boy remained humble and grateful that people are taking interest in his work.
