A mother’s amazing Up-themed photoshoot, featuring her 90-year-old grandparents and her 5-year-old son has gone viral.

The incredible shoot from mother-of-three and photographer Rachel Perman was a celebration in honor of her son’s birthday, and also to commemorate her successful battle against cancer.

“I chose to do magical shoots for my kids’ birthdays this year as all three of my kids share the same birthday week,” Rachel said to LADbible.

“Five years ago I was diagnosed with cancer right after my twins were born and I had fears about if I would even get to see their fifth birthday.

“My oldest Mikayla was five at the time and I hated not knowing if I would get the same time with them that I got with her. So, for their fifth birthday I wanted to celebrate the things they love with photos. It’s a celebration for me and them!”

Rachel also explained that when deciding for the theme, she went with what her children love the most: Disney film Up.

“Elijah is very particular,” she said. “He is borderline addicted to Up and has been for several years. It’s the only thing he draws and colours, the only books he wants to get at the library, and the only toy he wanted when we were in Disney World last year. He loves Up!

“Inviting his great grandparents was my idea and a surprise to him. He loved that they dressed up.”

Rachel also said that her grandparents, Richard and Caroline, have not seen the film but they were happy to get involved.

“They were thrilled to participate and loved that I asked them,” she added. “Grandpa even went to the thrift store to get the jacket and hose. He said, ‘I noticed in a photo Carl had a hose over his shoulder.”

In addition to Up-themed shoot, Elijah’s twin sister Emilee also got her own unicorn shoot.

Rachel is so amazed to hear that people love her photo shoots. “I had no clue this would receive recognition! It’s been fun to see how many people are touched by it.

“I keep telling the kids, ‘You are good at bringing happiness to us, now you are making the nation happy too!’”
