13-year-old Logan Kavaluskis received a puppy his birthday and he couldn’t contain his emotions when he found out that his father had arranged it for him before he passed away from cancer.
His dad, Joe, had been battling cancer for almost ten years before he died earlier this year at the age of 47.
He had secretly arranged a special gift for Logan before he passed away.
In the video, Logan was in the back seat of a car wearing a baseball cap. His cousin, Jon, then turned around and handed him a Boston Terrier puppy.
“That’s from your dad,” Jon said. “That’s your dog.”
Teary Logan looked up and asked: “Really?”
“Yes, he is yours,” Jon replied.
Logan looked at the puppy and began to cry and asked again if the pup is really his. Jon reassured him and said: “Dad wanted you to have a puppy. Do you love him? He is all yours.”
The 13-year-old sobbed and stroked the pooch and the clip ended.
The teen had always wanted to have a pet dog but his dad, Joe, had allergies, so he couldn’t keep one in the house.
Logan has since named the adorable pooch Indy.
One internet user commented: “Beautiful and so sad! They look like best friends already, I hope Indy the dog brings a lot of comfort and healing to this sweet boy and his family. Such a thoughtful thing to do. Rest peacefully, Jon.”
Another wrote: “I skipped over this story all day because I knew what it would do to me. What a thoughtful dad. I am on my fifth Bostie. What a perfect choice for Logan!”
A third added: “Wow, what a beautiful story and his dad RIP what a hero even though he’s dying he still thinks about his son Logan….”
