Going through puberty is no easy job.
Not only is the mind bound to go through great changes during the process but also our bodies.
Regardless of who you are, you probably have one or two embarrassing stories from puberty that still haunt you up to this day. However, if you were as lucky as the girl in this story was, you probably also had a few saviors who helped you get through embarrassing situations.
As one grateful mother explained in her post on the ‘Little humans being bros’ Reddit thread, a teen boy saved the day by helping her daughter as she experienced her first leak.
After sharing her story online, many users praised the boy for his compassionate approach to handling the situation.
“What an awesome kid. This highlights the importance of teaching boys about girls’ bodies, and vice versa. Understanding engenders compassion,” one person wrote.
“I am guessing neither your daughter nor the boy are very old, maybe around 15. It would be so tempting to make fun of her. And even if not that, very awkward to have this conversation with a stranger.
“He must have been awfully nice for your daughter to react how she did. I have a feeling your daughter made a friend for life,” another Reddit user suggested.
Soon enough, women also began sharing their own experiences related to puberty.
“Got mine in 6th grade. Kids were laughing and I didn’t know why. Parents told me when they saw it during my music recital. Couldn’t go home…” one woman wrote.
“Got mine at my grandma’s who hadn’t had one in so long she didn’t know what to do with me. Took me to the store and loudly declared that I had started my first period and needed supplies. Only guys were working that day. One of them was my friend’s older brother… So embarrassing,” another one shared.
