A young boy has been rescued more than fifty days after an alleged kidnapping.
7-year-old Savely Rogovtsev, who disappeared from his home in Russia in late September, was finally reunited with his family after Western intelligence web sleuths made the ‘miracle’ discovery.
Police received information from Interpol that a site ‘on the dark web’ showed a photo of the boy with the kidnapper 14 miles from his home.
The tip’s source is believed to be a foreign intelligence agency investigating dark websites used by potential criminals.
Officers have arrested a 26-year-old man who allegedly pulled the child into a vehicle.
The 7-year-old is now receiving ‘strong psychological help,’ according to reports.
A huge search involving the army, police, and volunteers was launched when Savely was reported missing.
His father, 47-year-old Alexander Rogovtsev, said to REN TV: “He was very happy to see his mother. He hugged and kissed her.
“We are overwhelmed with feelings… It is an explosion of emotion and relief that the ordeal is over. Finally he is found.”
The father added: “We have just left the doctors and he is healthy, he has not lost weight.
“He is a normal child. He threw himself round our necks, sat on our laps, a happy child. We always believed that we would find him.”
The 7-year-old had gone missing after he got off a school bus in Gorki village.
“My son said the man pushed him into his car. He has been detained already,” Alexander said. “We do not know where he kept our son.”
Gennady Prokhorichev, the regional children’s ombudsman, said: “This is a miracle. Thank God it is a story with a happy ending.”
“For a month and a half he was kept in a strange house by a man for some reason – he was separated from his family,” he added.
“Now we need to work with the child. He needs the love of his family.”
