After a photo of the letter also appeared on Twitter, thousands of users voiced their support for the young boy and suggested he must be going through a lot of pain not knowing if it is okay to be gay.

“YES, WILL. YES SANTA LOVES YOU. Also, God loves you. Jesus loves you. Period. No asterisks. No notes. Just love. I wish I knew that when I was Will’s age,” one person responded.

One person said: “That is the most heartbreaking thing. And the worst part is that if this kid is asking this, then there is a huge chance they might not be receiving the love they need.”
