A 4-year-old boy reportedly found a gun under a bed inside the house of his mom’s boyfriend, who later told officers that he forgot to lock the weapon up.
Na’vaun Lamarii Price Jackson from Oakland, California is being called a miracle after he survived a life-threatening injury that could’ve killed him instantly.
The boy’s mother, Brijjanna Price, told media she has no plans to return to her boyfriend’s house again.
“I don’t even plan on talking to anyone associated with that house,” she expressed.
She was told by doctors at UCSF Benioff at Children’s Hospital Na’vaun would most likely have severe brain damage that could prevent him from walking again.
But after coming off of a medically induced coma and life support, little Na’vaun managed to defy the odds by responding and starting to eat on his own.
Price told KTVU: “He’s breathing on his own, he’s doing something different every day. Everything the doctors saying… God says different.”
The boy’s father, Ramon Price, also shares posts on his Facebook account. One video shows Na’vaun giving his grandpa a high five while another shows him trying to eat.
“Thanking God something new everyday he’s getting stronger and stronger,” he wrote on Facebook.
“What a Mighty God we serve,” the grandpa wrote in another post.
“Prayer really does change things,” he added. “From ICU to physical therapy. Please continue to lift my grandson myself and the rest of my family up in prayer.”
Na’vaun is now out of the ICU and is getting better every day.
