10-year-old Justin White from Tennessee has Asperger’s syndrome and ADHD.
One thing that kept him tethered is his best friend: A German Shepherd named Goblin.
His mother, Christina White, described the pooch as her son’s ‘lifeline.’ However, the dog was stolen from their home and Justin was heartbroken and devastated.
A CCTV camera captured a man in white Honda Civic pulling up to their house. The driver jumped out of the car, took the dog and put him in the vehicle.
The 10-year-old was devastated by the incident.
Christina told WZTV: “Heartwrenching, because I can’t do anything about it.
“He has had me hold him almost every night to get him to sleep, because his buddy’s not there. He’s used to sleeping with this big, old German Shepherd taking up most of his bed, and he’s used to Goblin being right there beside him.”
Goblin has formed a strong bond with his human. Christina added: “I think Goblin was a safe place for him. He knew nobody was going to get to him, nobody could hurt him, nobody was going to laugh at him, because he had this wonderful friend.
“We miss him. We had him for no other reason than we loved him.”
“He wasn’t worth money to us. He’s worth so much more. We just want him home.”
Nine days after the Goblin was stolen, a Good Samaritan brought him back to the family, according to WGNS.
Justin was on cloud nine after his best friend returned, a huge grin breaking out on his face at the sight of Goblin.
