The holiday is part of an annual charity event that raises funds for disabled or seriously ill children and also allows parents to nominate “deserving” kids, like those with sick siblings, for the chance to be chosen for a week-long holiday.

Alize was listening to the car radio when he suddenly hears Vicky, his grandmother, on the air. She tells the hosts that she’s nominating Alize because he was an “amazing” older brother to Andre, 3, who has periventricular leukomalacia (PVL).

PVL is a form of brain injury where dead tissue creates “holes in the brain.” It’s commonly found in premature infants.

Vicky says that while Andre cannot speak or see, he is “the happiest little guy you’ll ever meet.”

“[Alize] is amazing. He is the older brother of a little guy who has severe brain damage and Alize, he just does everything that needs to be done without asking,” she says on the radio.

“I don’t know what else to say, this kid’s amazing. He’s a hero.”

“He is Andre’s guardian angel.”

She continues by saying that Alize deserves something special for himself and that the trip would be “incredible” for him.

“Well he’s gonna get it because we are going to put him on that plane with the rest of those kids with Koru Care New Zealand and send him to the Gold Coast for more fun than he’s ever had,” the radio host says.

With a confused look at the start, Alize looks to his mom who confirms that he’s headed to Australia. At this point, the boy bursts into tears.

His mom asks him if he’s excited and he replies: “I don’t know….I’m feeling a lot.

“I can’t believe it, I want to say thank you to Nana.”

The video which was posted on the little boy’s Facebook page Andre The Incredible PVL has already gained more than two million views.

A few days later, Alize spoke to New Zealand’s project and explained how much he loves his little brother.

“I love him with all my heart,” he said.

“I know he’s dying, but I just wanna know he’ll always be near me and I’ll always be there for him.”

Countless messages of love and support have already flooded in and Alize’s mom has, in turn, asked the public to help other disadvantaged children by donating to the charity.

“I just want to thank EVERYONE for your support, your amazing comments and sharing so much love and emotions with us! Alize’s feeling so loved and on top of the world!” she posted on Facebook.

“We have been so overwhelmed with what’s been happening lately that it’s been hard to actually give everyone a true insight to Alize and who he is.

“Alize had to learn how to become resilient, brave, confident, social and independent at a very young age because all he had in his earlier years was just me (his mom).

“I’ve always encouraged Alize to do everything and anything and never told him he couldn’t do anything, his dreams were possible. He’s always had the mindset anything is possible, so it takes this kid a lot to actually give up.”
