Will Connolly, soon after he smashed an egg over the senator’s head was named the “Egg Boy”.
Fraser Anning, the Senator of Queensland, blamed that the terror attacks that took place in New Zealand were a result of Muslim immigration.
The attack which happened on two mosques resulted in the death of fifty Muslims. Will, a seventeen-year-old Australian teen did not like this comment and smashed an egg over Anning’s head.
According to Senator Anning, the real cause behind the mosque shooting was the immigration programme. This programme resulted in the immigration of Muslim activists in New Zealand.
Will was quite upset listening to this widely-condemned comment and took the step. According to Police sources, Will was interviewed, and after that, he was released on the afternoon of Tuesday. Further investigation is still pending.
Will’s lawyer Peter Gordon confirmed that they would not pursue any legal action. Not even against Fraser Anning or any of his followers who whacked the teenager in the face.
Later on, it was discovered that one of those followers, Neil Erikson was a far-right protestor. He was also a condemned criminal. He posted a video on the internet stating that the terror attack was a result of “Karma”.
Will gained a lot of praises for his actions. The money that he received through an online crowdfunding campaign was donated to the victims of the terror attack.
Not only acclaims, but Will also enticed attention from people all around the world, including artists like Violent Soho, Hilltop Hoods and The Living End. He has been offered free concert tickets for the rest of his life by these musicians.
Street artists have painted murals on the wall as a way of showing him respect. Hosier Lane situated at Melbourne is famous for the paintings that artists paint regularly in order to display their talent.
It is considered as one of the renowned tourist attraction spots. Recently people noticed another mural which is of the Eggboy smashing an egg on the Senator’s head.
On the other hand, Australian Greens have commented on the entire situation stating that they will try and get Senator Anning suspended from the parliament by the next election.
