At the age of two years, Aidric suffered from the parental neglect.
He luckily found a new home when he was adopted. But seven years after his adoption, his parents were charged with the crime of child neglect and child abuse.
The family who adopted him, instead of showing him the love that he might miss from his biological parents, they starved and consistently beat the young boy. The police intervened into the situation when Aidric was barely 32 pounds of weight.
The boy did not get a balanced diet at any point thus he was suffering from malnutrition. The boy was so thin that he could be compared to a toddler. His teeth were weak to that the dentist removed several of them to help the boy regain his shape.
“I cannot allow this at all. How can you mistreat a child up to this extent and still stay with him? I cannot imagine doing this to a child,” Said Shannon Foster. Together with her husband, the family decided to take up the responsibility of the young boy. The police had removed the boy from his former parents when they realized his conditions were worsening.
“It is indeed inhuman and horrifying. It tests to my Christianity and my faith and belief,” Jimmie Foster Said.
The now 9-year-old boy had been renamed Cameron, and the Foster family tried their best to put the innocent young citizen into a healthy life. They could do their best to ensure that the young boy forgets about his demeaning past and focus on his better future. The history might have been disturbing to him, but at least he now finds compassion around him. “It was only a privilege to be fed once in a while,” Cameron commented about his former parents.
Cameron has undergone some counseling and also attended to therapies that have seen him grow trust in life and gather the courage to forget about his past trauma and torments. He could be locked in a room for several days without food or water.
“Cameron is one the kids that I will perfectly say; I will hold him in my heart forever,” Shannon said. For the first time in his life, Cameron has found a loving family that knows how to handle him and makes him feel human once again.
“When I sent a picture of Cameron to my sister, she did not know anything about him but just appreciated my efforts,” Jimmie told the WOWT 6 News. She just wanted her to know that their family was having an addition of new face and as family members, they need to be informed of him early enough.
For the first days of Cameron’s coming to the family of Foster, the young boy liked to eat chicken and the family became curious of knowing why he would prefer just chicken of all the meals. But Jimmie recalled, “one of the things the previous parents did to punish him was to buy chicken eat, and they feed the helpless boy with bones to clear off the table and remains.”
To him, eating has been a luxury, and he would rarely eat. Cameron’s skin had also deviated that he formed a lot of skin scratches.
Both of his former parents were found guilty of negligence and are to serve 25 years jail term.
Despite his past where he could eat nothing for several days, Cameron is now picking up well since he found a supportive and loving family. He is better placed than how the family saw him.
“Love should be shown throughout the entire life of someone; it should never be partial more so to a kid,” Jimmie said.
“Anybody who loves you when you are doing good things and runs from you at your hardest time is not genuine love,” Jimmie added
It is a blessing for this young boy, Camron to find such a caring, loving, stable and beautiful parents in an adorable home. He will never be thirsty again as long as his parents live. Thanks to the family.
