Two reckless teens were caught on camera scaling a high tower in order to take a selfie once reaching the top.
The police were called onto the scene after shocked passersby spotted the two daredevils climbing the 112-meter-tall AWA Tower in Sydney, Australia, for the sake of a few photos.
The boys, who are allegedly teens, were cheating death as they made their way towards the building’s crow nest without any safety equipment.
At one moment, one of the teens waved his hand out while holding onto the bars single-handedly. The other teen ascended to the peak of the spire where he took a selfie.
According to the NSW Police, the teens were arrested after descending the tower. They are believed to be just 13 and 14 years old according to the 9News report.
The reckless boys were observed by dozens of witnesses including Pedro Cuccovillo who noticed them ascending the tower from his office.
“We all held our breath,” he said in an interview with Daily Mail Australia. “They were taking selfies. They looked like they wanted to come back down but couldn’t. They were literally a slip away from death.”
As the eyewitnesses explained, the boys ascended the peak from the tower’s platform without the use of a safety harness.
After the footage was shared on social media, users quickly slammed the pair not only for putting themselves in danger but for wasting the time of emergency services.
